The bolts vary somewhat by Corvette years. This vendor used to offer the correct ones (and still may, I haven't checked lately):

        Jimmy------

The intake manifold bolts used for most small blocks were 3/8-16 X 1-1/4". They were conventional, non-indented, hex head bolts with a phosphate finish and were of GM-280M material (SAE grade 5, 3-lines). No washer was used in conjunction with these bolts. A common head marking for small blocks was a circle with an "M", but others were likely used.

If your engine uses any brackets which are secured by the head bolts (like AIR pump bracket but excepting thin brackets like the ignition shielding tower brackets), then a longer bolt was used at that/those positions. Usually, the longer bolt(s) will have a different head marking (like "A" or "C").

It is important that the bolts used be of the proper length. Too long bolts may contact the push rods in certain cases. This is VERY undesirable, to say the least.

            Correction

The first line of my second paragraph should say intake manifold bolts NOT head bolts.

Paragon has the bolts with a "TR" head mark and a 1-1/8" length will these be viewed as correct also? and the length O.K.?

Yes, I think that "TR" is also an accepted head marking. 1-1/8" long is fine. In fact, the more I think about it, 1-1/8" might be the correct original length rather than the 1-1/4" I mentioned earlier. In any event, 1-1/8" will be fine.
