    67 inner fenders

    Gents,
I replaced the front clip and inner fenders on a 67/427 is there any documentation available that would reference to the proper location of the voltage regulator ?

        Re: 67 inner fenders

Myles, Brandon: I don't know of a printed reference. Best bet may be to duplicate an original. Not many straight lines in that area to reference, but here's what I found:

2 front holes are on a vertical line 12.75" back from where the hood prop boss meets the main inner fender surface. Below the regulator position, the inner fender is formed outboard a bit, forming a line I can measure from. The lower of the two front holes is 3.75" up from where the main surface turns outboard. Not sure if this is making any sense... Use the regulator for a template and that should get you there.

This is as measured from an April, 67 300HP A/C car. YMMV. Good luck. -Karl

            Karl-- turned outboard?

Is that where there is a lip for flush-fitting the a-arm seal? Thanks for the help!

                Re: Karl-- turned outboard?

This is rearward of the hole/seal for A-arm. On the lower portion of the inner fender, there is a depressed (when viewed from engine compartment) pocket in the inner fender. The front edge of this pocket is approximately in line with the rear edge of the A-arme seal. The bottom of this pocket has a seal on the frame. It is the horizontal top edge of this pocket that I am using as a landmark or baseline for my elevation dimension. Clear as mud?

e-mail me if you want me to try to e-mail you a sketch of what I have.

Oh, it sounds like the "pocket" is to clear the steering box. Thanks.

Driver side, the VR is on 3 legs, the side with the single leg goes fore (points towards the front of the car) at an approximate 30 degree angle, mounted on rubber punch-through mounts through holes in the inner fender. Hence, the wire coupling faces aft.

Hope this helps at least this is how it is mounted on mine.
