I have to decide whether to replace or rechrome the air cleaner lid of my 64 L75. Does anybody sell an exact reproduction that will pass judging? If not, Does anybody do both the rechroming as well as silk screening on my old one? There are no dents or dings, but the chrome is pretty shot. Thanks, Shane

You're between a rock and a hard place! NOBODY makes a repro air lid that's 100% factory concours down to the detail/color/placement of the silk screen AND the factory original construction of the real McCoy lid. You've got three alteratives:
(1) Bid your time and wait for the genuine article to surface at a swap meet, on eBay, Etc.
(2) Bite the bullet and buy a repop lid and take the originality deduct(s).
(3) Restore your original lid by having a silk screener photo, digitally 'cleanse' and make a 'one of' mask for you. Then, go through the effort of having your lid re-chromed (prepare yourself for an over-restoration deduct because nobody is going to 'flash' chrome vs. triple chrome your existing lid out of PRIDE).
Unfortunately, there some areas in restoration/preservation where you're on the horns of a dilema. You can get into a 'teetor totter' situation where you simply trade originality points for condition points at times.... -
