Battery Cable Grommets for early 69

I'm ready to install a new set of cables but can this be correct?? The grommets are the same size and configuration but orientated differently which means; I'll have to insert the negative cable with grommet from the inside of the battery box and the postive cable with grommet from the outside of the battery box.

Although I'm not real familiar with the '69, What you are describing is very probable, because the neg is installed on the body line (I know ny '72 went in from the top down, and the positive is generally installed on the engine line and the engine then mated to the frame, which pretty much means it would have to pull up into the box.
