    early 54 air cleaner's

    Are the reproduction bullet air cleaner's for a 54 close to the orginal's? Did the orginal's have a foam filter and a coil like spring in them? Did the round end ( cap) could it be removed? Thanks for any help.

      Factory installed units did not have filters. The cap ends do not come off. GM replacement unit did not say "BOETTGER , PAT PEND". Reproductions can be spotted by the size and spacing of "PAT PEND"
