I am checking all my vacuum systems for leaks with a vacuum pump. The brake booster holds no vacuum. I pump it to 15"Hg and in less than a second after I close the pump suction line valve the vacuum is at 0" Hg. When I check the vacuum on the intake manifold with the car running its stays the same whether the booster is connected or not. I am wondering if the booster should be rebuild/replaced. In the archives it appears to say that the booster should hold vacuum, but if thats true why does the engine vacuum not drop off with the booster connected?
