    61 FI gear pump removal

The earlier bench test of my FI unit was unsuccessful. The cable I found out thanks to Bill needs to turn clockwise, but it binds. I figure I need to remove the FI gear pump as outlined on page 6M-17 service guide to further explore. Does the gear pump need to be tapped with a brass punch or a I not pulling hard enough? According to figure 50, it doesn't appear to be able to twist out.
    Thanks,
    Ron

    Stuck to gasket?

The gear pump is held in place by only the five external screws that you can see. If it doesn't slide out after removing the screws, it must be stuck to the rubber gasket between the pump and the fuel meter.

I would try tapping the cable end with something made of plastic to gently rock the pump. If you try to wedge something sharp between the pump and the meter, you could easily damage the aluminum gasket face.
