      Re: 65 396

23564 is the LAST 1965 Corvette and it is a 396.

Bill --- I've wondered myself if any were produced after # 23564, although GM records are silent. John Amgwert has had some communication with GM on #'s 563 and 564 (the only two on the books for Aug '65, initially neglected due to accounting error). Al Grenning has the ledger for the last VIN daily, and nothing shows after # 564.

I suppose one way is by having access to NITB records (MSO database) and checking for anything higher than 564.

Sorry Brian --- accronym dyslexia; yes, should have been NICB. No, I don't have any contact now, although 10 years ago, I got the info on both of my '65's through a friend who had friends in law enforcement. I understand it's next to impossible now.

(On my soapbox) can't believe that this 30-40 year old database is of any use to the insurance bureau or law enforcement; it's time it be released to the enthusiast public. (stepping down now).
