The GM #3927190 is the correct choke thermostat for ALL 1968 Corvette 327 applications. It is the exact same choke used in PRODUCTION except for the fact that, in PRODUCTION, it was known as GM #3927189. That's because, in PRODUCTION, it was supplied as an assembly WITH the GM #3864866 cover. In SERVICE, the choke thermostat and cover were only available seperately.
In any event, the GM #3927190 thermostat is GM-discontinued. However, it's easily available in reproduction and you may even be able to get one at your local auto parts store under the Standard Automotive Parts or NAPA brands. The aftermarket pieces that I've seen have been identical or near-identical to the originals. About the only difference that I've observed is that many of the original choke thermostat stamped steel frames were bare, un-plated steel and the aftermarket frames are usually zinc plated. In Appreciation of John Hinckley- Top

Don't get crazy and pay some foolish price for it; like I say, the aftermarket and reproductions are virtually indistinguishable from the originals. Plus, the choke thermostat cover conceals what's underneath, anyway. In Appreciation of John Hinckley- Top

Ypu can buy the exact part from Dr. Rebuild for $12 and change. I saw the same thing on e-bay and it is up to $14 already. The problem with auctions is people get caught up in the frenzy of outbidding the other guy and pay more for the part than they can buy it outright from a vendor. An auction is supposed to be a bargain, not a place where you pay a HIGHER price than retail.- Top
