66 Body Lift Straps

Is there an alternative method of lifting the body? I used the straps (purchased from any of the corvette vendors) to remove the body, but it appeared there may have been some pressure applied to the outside of the doors. There was no damage done to the body but I would prefer alternate method to put the body back on the frame. Any suggestions or ideas for fabrication?

Do you have a coupe or convertible?

When I lifted my '65 convertible, I removed the hood latches and attached 2 homemade plates to attach the forward hooks (or you can use a pair of old latches that you don't mind stressing in this way). In the rear of the body, I removed the deck lid hinges and attached to the #4 body mount holes. If you have a coupe, obviously the two rear points are not available.

I have a convertible. I should have included that as I can understand the very different possibilites.
