    Parking brake cable spring

I'm installing the parking brake cable at the rear of a 65 and at the end that has the ball that goes through the parking brake lever at the caliper there is a spring around the cable. I've looked in the aim under UPC5 ref C2 and don't see a spring pictured. Ive also looked in chevrolet service manuals and found no pictures or mention of this spring. Does it go between the lever and the guide(part no. 3864278)? Or does it sit in the guide or?

    Jerry------

The spring goes between the parking brake lever and the white, nylon guide which is mounted in the trailing arm bracket.
