Hello,
Recently recieved my original speedometer rebuilt by well-known vendor who did a good job. However I have a few technical questions I know someone here can answer:
* The speedo face is held on by two "black-oxide" pan-head screws (look sort of dark grey color) My late-1980's NOS speedometer currently in the car has black painted/plated screws, as does the rebuilt (by another well-known vendor) tach. Which one do I want for a June 1967 car?
* Numerals on the odometer wheels are a noticeably different font for the speedo currently in the car and my rebuilt. Has anyone else noticed this? The rebuilt (presumed originals) look "wider" and "thicker" - is this correct? How does one tell if an odometer is original?
These are small points but I'd like the speedo & tach to match - and would prefer to disassemble the dash as few times as necessary.
Thanks,
Carl
