Pertronics and Vacuum Adv

I don't know if its old age or just Monday morning and not enough coffee, but do you lose vacuum advance when you go to pertronics ignitor? I seem to remember in reading about these before I installed mine (2 yrs ago), that you give up vacuum advance with the change over.

I didn't on my install. It doesn't have anything to do with the vacuum advance.

No!

The Pertronix pickup replaces the point assembly, so the vacuum advance plate remains intact and operational. Just make sure that you get the correct unit for your application- I know the unit for Ford dual-point centrifugal distributors replaces the entire plate, which is very hand IF you want to convert to full-centrifugal.
