72 convert shoulder belts

maybe someone could answer this ongoing debate ( 4 years) I am having with my son. I have had two 72 vette convertables. He insists that they caome with shoulder belts. I know I bought the first one with 5 K miles on it and it did not. The one I have now is a 'kit'car but I love it and it also does not have shoulder belts BUT the assembly manual clearly shows these on the 72 - Did they have them or not? Would lke to put them in any event but the price is way steep at 550+ a seat - does anyone know where I can get something that will look OK - in brown. thanks, michael sciarra

Very clear answer here! Regular Production Option (RPO) A85 provided shoulder belt option to '70-72 Corvette as documented in the '70-72 NCRS Technical Information Manual and Judging Guide. Feature was standard on all coupe cars.
