I am detailing the engine and I am looking for some recommendations/suggestions for the intake and exhaust manifolds. The NCRS Technical Manual indicates the intake was painted with a dull silver. Does anyone have any recommendations for a paint and where I might find it? Also, I am not sure if the exhaust manifolds were painted. After I cleaned them up, I noticed that it appears as though some of the AIR tube gold cadmium plating is on one of the two manifolds. I would like to get the AIR tubes plated as original, but I am not sure what the best approach is for the manifolds. I would like it to be as original as possible, but durable. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks.

I think that you will find that any high quality, high temperature aluminum spray paint will work well for your intake manifold. Usually, aluminum paint will naturally "dull" as the aluminum particles in it oxidize. This is inescapable reality with aluminum and aluminum paint, since it is usually quite rich in actual aluminum particles.
Your exhaust manifolds were never painted. They are tubular, welded stainless steel. I THINK that the AIR tubes are also stainless and an integral, welded on part of the manifolds. In Appreciation of John Hinckley- Top
