    Oill Fill Tube

How do you replace a broken oil fill tube on a 1963? The break in about half way up the tube.

Chad, the tube is a press fit. Better to remove manifold and fit a plug (slight clearance fit inside tube)and tap out using a hammer. New one is also press fit, set in careful use of a block of wood and hammer.

      Chad,

Manifold removal is not necessary. Old tube will pull out with a little wiggling back and forth. Position the new tube correctly for air cleaner hose and tap in as recommended with wood. Simple 5 minute job.

You may want to stuff a clean cloth down the tube to catch wood chips. Just don't forget to remove it.
