Thank you, Vito & the Board

I sincerely believe upgrades to this Technical Discussion Board as described in the header will prove an excellent move for NCRS and its members.

Great move. It will make this BB much more "usable".

I don't see how excluding people that share the same passion is going to improve anything. When you exclude people, you diminish the "data base for information". In my eyes, it's a bad move.

Aside from all the other stuff, I myself CAN NOT WAIT for a newer message board format.

I agree. Even though we haven't seen the new look yet, I'm sure it will be great.

            Thanks for your efforts Vito!

I'm looking forward to seeing the new look and changes to the board. If uploading pictures to this server leads to more pictures in the posts, this will be a very good development.
              Regards,

                Jim,

I can see where you're coming from, but I don't think that anyone is being excluded. Anyone can join NCRS. If someone actually does share our same passion, then the cost of an NCRS membership is a non-issue. You get a lot more for it than just the forum access.

I can almost guarantee that keeping the forum to members only would not diminish the quality of the posts. The quantity possibly, but not the quality. I have seen this first hand with other sites.

                  Dave

I belong to many forums/clubs that reflect the cars that I own and this will be the only one that requires a membership to be able to contribute to their forum. Look at my NCRS number. I've been a member longer than the majority. If this is the direction the NCRS is heading, maybe it's time to leave. I may be the only one that feels this way but, that's how it is. I still feel this move is a mistake.

"I can almost guarantee that keeping the forum to members only would not diminish the quality of the posts. The quantity possibly, but not the quality. I have seen this first hand with other sites."

Obviously, I don't belong to any of the forums that you are referring to. The quantity will DEFINATELY decrease as will the quality.

Yes, I also agree...It is a courageous move in my opinion; anytime anyone in leadership makes a decision to change the status quo, there is a chance it will make a lot of people unhappy.

Recognition should also go to our esteemed "Administrator" that made the Board's decision reality with hard work...Thanks John; we're looking forward to seeing your product.

Now...Has any more thought been given to a "Parts For Sale" page with "members only" access?

                        Questions for the Board

Maybe I'm just ignorant, but I simply don't understand the reasons for this change. I personally like, very much, the formats and style of this forum. Maybe there have been discussions by the board that aren't obvious to me. Are non-members considered to be "undesirables" and the board wants them to cease participating? Is there a money issue and the board wants to encourage membership in order to increase dollars? Do they want to keep closer tabs on members? Do they want to eliminate a few un-ruly non-members? Or are there other reasons that are not being mentioned for some reason? For my sake it doesn't make any difference (member or non-member) who I get my Corvette questions and answers from. I simply don't want the service to deteriorate! I've been a member for 17-18 years and really like it the way it is!

I'm really not that hard to get along with, but I would like the facts!

Maybe these issues have already been discussed on this forum and I missed them. If so tell me, if not, I would like to see the board state their reasons publically on this forum.
