Hello everyone, I really need some help with this. I am putting the TI system back in the car. 1968 after Jan. I have the 5343 pig tail apx 24" long plus the main wire harness original of apx 80" long total of apx 104"
At the distributor side of the main harness I have the pink and gray wires into a two way connector (for distributor pink to white distributor lead and gray to green/white distributor lead) with a pink wire back out of pink ( to starter motor)
I have a large white wire apx 12gauge with a splay end ( to posi side of coil)
I have large pink (looks pink) wire apx 12gauge with single connector. Is this wire the one that connects to ignition switch???
And I do not have a black 18gauge in the harness for the (neg side of coil back to amp box as ground. Is there suppost to be one in the harness.
The main harness at the amp end pig tail plug looks to have the original paper electrical tape on it.
Its at the distributor side of harness that has new plastic electrical tape over the original paper tape at that end.
The pig tail is a new reproduction and is not like the Assembly Manual page H338 showing wire out of harness grounding the box to the radiator frame.
Am I missing something here or correct in what I am thinking.......That the reproduction harness for the amp box is missing the black 18gauge wire out grounding the amp box to radiator frame. And then where is the wire for the neg. side of coil at the distributor side of harness??
