Re: C2 replacement Radiator vs Repro

There are design constraints with brass than don't allow the same heat transfer per unit area as aluminum.

The DeWitts Web site has some good information.

Over the next few years, new copper-brass car and truck radiators that could last ten years will debut in the automotive industry. They are fully competitive with today's aluminum counterparts.

          Very interesting site.

However, what they are discussing is brand new technology. If I'm reading "between the lines" correctly, they are admitting that up until now the construction techinques used for aluminum radiators worked "better."

The question becomes, will this type of technology be applied to all brass radiators in the future? Will DeWitts someday sell a brass reproduction core (for thos of us with a brass radiator) that is far superior to what we've been able to purchase up to this point?

          Wait and see, I suspect.
