Re: E-Bay snipper how??
Roy, essentially very simple. The person that outbid you had a higher dollar limit for his maximum bid. Let's say you bid a maximum of $15.00. This other person wanted the same item but was willing to spend $25.00. In the last 30 seconds he bids $25.00. You stop at $15.00, he get's it for $16.00.
This can be done manually or there is S/W to assist so you do not have to be around for the last 30 seconds.

Re: E-Bay snipper how??
Roy, Just Google "ebay sniper" or something like that and you will get a idea of whats out there. Some have a free trial. Don't ask me which one to get because I still do it the old fashoned way and wait until the last minute.
I'm considering getting one though so that I'll at least be on a level playing field with other snipers. Oh and these sniper programs cut it a lot closer than 30 seconds. If you have a average computer and connection you can bid up to about the last 10 seconds. I just lost out on a bid for a carb and the sniper's bid came just 5 seconds before the auction ended so you can see the advantage they have on us.- Top

Re: E-Bay snipper how??
Roy,
You may have been out bid by $100, but the last bid only reveals the amount it took to buy the item. My auction process is; look at an item, decide the most I would pay for the item, bid that amount and check the auction when it's over.

Re: Not Snipper...Sniper! LOL
It's been awhile since I read his book...A 1000 yard shot is probably routine for trained military snipers.
The only episode I remember from Hathcock's book was the one about the NVA (courier?) that had stopped on the trail to rest and eat his lunch. Hathcock waited until he finished his lunch before he took him out.
As Al-Queda found out in Lebanon, expert sniper fire is the ultimate terrorism. Not for the victim, because they never hear the shot that kills them, but for the victim's comrades.- Top

I use esnipe. Fees are minimal and you select the time you want your bid entered.

Re: E-Bay snipper how??
Sometimes it's great fun just to hang out and watch, in the last minutes, when particulary hot items - 5 quart SB oil pans, early aluminum intakes, hot BB parts, bolts, wing nuts, etc., - reach their listed end of auction time. Unbelievable what some of these items cross the finish line at. .. That's nothing new, is it? .. :-) .. Just keep hitting the refresh key and watch the show! ..- Top
