Re: 55 Corvette in Spain
Roy, did yoyu notice that the door cutouts are rectangular on this car? This a characteristic of 1953 early 54 cars. Maybe the door isn't original to the car.
I'd love to see more pictures of this car. I wonder if his desicant holes are round or rectagular?
Love that copper color.- Top

Re: 55 Corvette in Spain
Because sometimes they are wrong. My copy of the JR says the 55 had oval mufflers. Well, maybe some did, as I recall Roy's car does. However, Chevy specified round "off road" style mufflers for all 55's, and mine had them. My Dad did all the maintenance on this car back to when it was new, and it had the round mufflers. Anyone can make mistakes, even the NCRS. What matters is whether you (or they) are willing to update when new information reveals errors. Chevy was not exactly documenting these cars for our benefit. If they were, they would not have trashed the factory orders detailing which cars came with which options and colors, etc.- Top

Re: 55 Corvette in Spain
Dave--
I agree with you 100%. My question, though, is that a statement "the NCRS is wrong" needs to be backed up with some kind of substance. Your message has substance--Roy's does not. I'm not picking at Roy, I'm looking for substantiation for the statement he made.

Re: 55 Corvette in Spain "Mike"
I've had judges mention that copper came in later along with many other statements about the 55. I have no proof they did or not , just what I see and know like many other people that know about other year Corvettes . Unfortunately many people think the JM is the bible or judges don't make mistakes . That don't mean I'm against everything in the JM or judges. Many people would love "substantiation" covering many things// me included !!- Top
