Any recommendation on a sealer for cylinder head bolts.

Always used Permatex #2, the thick brown stuff. Never had a problem yet. Works on the intake manifold bolts also so they don't weep oil on your nice clean manifold.

I use teflon paste to seal head bolts.

I'm sure you can get many different answers to this question.

Most engine builders prefer a sealing compound with teflon, such as GM Pipe Thread Sealant With Teflon, or equivalent.

My advice to you is to consult with the manufacturer of your head bolts. Certain manufacturers specify the sealant to be used with their bolts. It can make a difference in the torque applied to the bolt, to obtain a certain clamping force, and thus, the strain on the bolt at the specified tightening torque.
