Rick..please educate me as to what is wrong with this. I see the window sticker shows a 390 and the tank sticker shows 400. What am I missing here? Thanks

      Chris,

Look further down on the tank sticker & on the bottom of the window sticker where it reads RPO L-68 Convert 390HP to 400HP.

The 400 HP tri power setup is essentially an "upgrade" from the 390 P L-36.

I could be wrong, but you couldnt get A/C or power brakes with the 435 HP L-71/L-89 motor. If you really wanted the tri-power setup with these options, your only option was the L-68.

          Anthony,
I have a one previous owner 1969 427/435 with power steering and power brakes. It is true that you could not get A/C with the 435 HP in 1967 thru 1969, but you could order it with the 400 HP engine option.

I did see that and thought I had seen that on other 400HP cars tank stickers that were legit. Was a 400HP car listed on the tank sticker as a 390 and then at the bottom the 400HP was added?

As strange as that might sound it was how headrests were listed on the tank sheet.

The side exaust was the wrong code. I called the dealer & ask how abig block could have small block exaust. He said paperwork came with the car & " I KNOW NOTHING" then he hung up. Did anyone see the body splice on the underside. The front & back 1/2 are not the same body. OH well it's only 200,000

Build sheet lists aluminum wheels...no mention of them on the window sticker.

From a paint quality standpoint, it appears as if the white stinger stripe on the hood in front of the scoop has a 'wiggle' in it on the way to lining up with the point on the headlamp panel (unless I'm viewing it incorrectly).

Maybe the back half of the car was a small block and when they spliced the car together they did the same to the tank sticker?
