1961 230 hp - Radiators

I know this topic has been hit hard before, but I have a basic question that hopefully has a basic answer - can one say that all base (230 hp) 61s got a rad with separate surge tank, while the non-base engined 61s received some version (ribs, sight plugs, etc) of the top tank rad? I have seem fleeting references to the possibility that early 230 hp 61s may have gotten top tank rads as well, that's why I am asking.

Sorry if this is a question that is easily answered in the 61 TIM&JG, I am not a 61 guy and don't have that reference material handy.

Jack....

Very early 1961's (to approx.serial #1500) may appear with either '60 style copper or '60 top tank aluminum radiators. The top tank radiators were used for R.P.O. 468 Dual four barrel carburetors. (some reports of other engines (230hp) using the top tank may exist? but it would be very rare)... Early 1961 and 1960 date code radiators were unpainted, mid-to-late 61's were painted black. It was only after serial number 1500 did the separate surge tank radiators appear.
