    Frank-----

The part numbers were GM #5956001 for both inner headlamps and GM #5956002 for both outers. However, these numbers are pretty meaningless since the numbers usually don't appear on the lamps, themselves. Plus, these part numbers were used over a fairly long period of time and the actual configuration of the headlamps changed in certain ways over that period. So, even if you found any NOS lamps with these numbers on the box, they would not necessarily be configured exactly like those used in 1969.

        Frank,

The ORIGINALLY installed lamps for your 1969 had an orange ink stamp on the back that included a date. Since it is on the back, and not visible when installed, the date is not judged.

There have been numerous posts on the board about headlamps, including the prints for some of them. As cumbersome as it is, search the archives. Before you start you should know that one of those posts pointed out that lamps generally fail because the vacuum is no longer intact. This happens as the lamp ages, even on the shelf. Short story, even if you find NOS headlamps, plugging them in stands a good chance of destroying their function.

Remember -- NOS is not always either the right part or a functional part.
