Jack,
Look in the NCRS Driveline. I have seen ads for radio tubes before.
In addition to the tubes it is likely one or more of the capacitors are bad just from age. To make it work well you should replace all capacitors.
Unless you are knowledgeable in electronics it would be better to have the radio redone by a professional. I just had a 65 radio refurbished and it works great. There are several competent shops that can do the job.

Jack,
Pardon my late post to your response. These radios are not difficult to repair, and you can probably do it yourself with a minimal number of tools. If you want to pursue repairing it on your own and when you get the radio removed, send me an email (go to User Profile) and I will be happy to work with you in attempting to get your car's radio fixed.
