C1 Choke Tube in Exhaust Manifold

I just purchased a repro choke tube to install in my exhaust manifold from Paragon. Anyone installed one of these? Does it go in from the top or bottom of the manifold? How did you install it, block of wood and hammer? Also I assume the slightly swelled end goes to the top and the flare end goes to the bottom. Thanks Ted

It goes in from the bottom, and is staked in place at the bottom.

remove the old tube. then use a drill bit using you fingers to progressivly remove the oxidized cast iron till its a couple thousands smaller than the ID of the tube. then put tube in freezer for hour or so to shrink it somewhat. also helps to warm up the manifold in the wifes oven once she leaves for church. brass hammer should do it. mike
