    oil pump

    could some one tell me the difference between 3764547 and 3848907 oil pump and wich one would be correct for a 64 fi thank you

    The only functional difference between the two pumps you mentioned is the installed pressure relief spring. The 3764547 uses the standard pressure relief spring and the 3848907 uses the high pressure relief spring. For your application, the GM #3848907 was originally used.

    By the way, the GM #3764547 oil pump was not used for any 1964 Corvettes; it was used for 1959-62 and beginning with the 1963 model year, it was replaced by the GM #3821979 for all standard pressure oil pump applications as well as 1959-62 SERVICE.
