What groove where? Covers in '73 were not much different than other years.

I have always been told that there was a groove in the '73 454 covers so I guess more investigation is needed.

I owned a 73 454 and I know of no groove. I have good pictures and would look for a groove if I knew where to look.

I'am new at this so bare with me. The so called "grove" I am talking about is for the power steering unit and cuts the corner at say a 45 degree angal at the front of the valve cover

Charles -

The angled corner you describe is at the rear of the driver's side valve cover, and is for clearance to the power brake booster.
