Does anyone make accurate reproductions of the brake hoses for a 1970. They should have a red stripe rather than the white stripe and writing that I believe started in 1972. All of the vendors I have contacted have the white stripe service replacement ones only. Thank you.

Re: Brake hose source
In addition to the items you mention the crimps on the end of the hoses are different on replacements. To make the original style crimps violates DOT regulations. I seriously doubt you will find any NEW brake hoses that look like the original hoses. NOS hoses, should you be able to find them, will be more than 30 years old, and of questionable safety. Do yourself, your car, and everyone else on the road a favor and put NEW brake hoses on your car.Terry- Top

Re: Brake hose source
Tom and Terry-----
I have multiple sets of NOS brake hoses [none for sale] of 100% original configuration. For safety reasons, I would NEVER, EVER, EVER use these hoses on my car. NEVER, EVER, EVER. And, as Terry mentions, there are NO reproduction hoses on the market that are of original configuration. I have seen folks pay Big $$$ on eBay for NOS hoses. If they intend to use them on a car (which, presumably, they do since there are few folks that buy parts to simply store away as I do), those folks are NUTS.In Appreciation of John Hinckley- Top
