I still can't get the emergengy brake lever out of my '61. I've got the spring clip off the cable. Should the cable pull out from the bottom? What holds the inner cable to the pull lever. The AIM is not very clear (to me anyway). Any ideas? As always, thanks for your help.

First you need to un-bolt the cable under the Corvette, then pull the handle lever rod out and you'll see the end inner cable having a ball end set into the rod. Remove it and the cable will come out as a assy if you have that hair clip removed . Then remove the bolt where the clip was and the other nut and bolt near it and the two at the dash . That's it!! -
