The cover on the front side of the bell housing is painted what color?

Yes, it will be orange - it was in place when the engine was painted at Flint V-8.

Yes, and very often the portion of the cover behind the oil pan received little, if any, paint. However, if it were me, I'd assume that my car was one of the few that had the cover completely painted.
