    C1 Tach Installation

In reassembling the instrument cluster on my '61, I find that the tach (reproduction) doesn't seat in the instrument cluster. There is a nice little square shoulder on the tach bezel but the tach doesn't go that deep into the cluster. It just "floats" on the two metal tabs held in by the screws. There is no self alignment and can slip while tightening the screws. Is this correct or have I missed something?
Thanks again for all the help.

It is correct. The fit was neither all that positive nor all that great.
