we go this show every year because it is a great show. the last 2 years they made the auction and the regional on a different weekend. why is that? half of my friends go to the show and the other half goes to the auction two weeks later. it would be great if we could all go the same weekend. will this ever be fixed? to me it takes away from the show to have half the people there two weeks later. its too much travel for me to do both. it was fun to see what the cars would bring. most of my time is spent at the show but it was cool to see both.

Re: NCRS KISSIMMEE REGIONAL
You may have to wait for an "official" response from the Florida Chapter -- the folks who put on the show.
I was told that because some of the land was sold for development, and was no longer available for use in the show, there was not enough room for the car show, swap meet and the auction at Old Town. Something had to go -- or they would be forced to find another location for the whole event. Basically it became a victim of its own success.Terry- Top

Re: forced to find another location
The Florida regional has been held in at least four different locations since I have been attending. You should hear the participants each time the location changed. One would think it was the end of the earth as we know it. People have to get used to a new motel, change their reservations, find a new site with different amenities in different locations.
Swap meet vendors tend to want what htey perceive as the best spot, and are reluctant to change. A new location meant change, questions, and complaints.
I have been involved in another Corvette organization which changed locations several times, and that almost brought that group to an end. Maybe it is the type of people involved, but changing locations of a Corvette event is at best a delicate operation. Part of the success of Carlisle is that it is held in the same location consistently, and of course the Millers have control of the property.Terry- Top

Re: forced to find another location Addendum
I agree the auction and thwe show should try and get together on the same weekend. Two differant locations is O.K. but get the time so that it coincides.I like to do both also and I agree it is to much traveling to do both. I say lets get the Florida Chapter and Mecum together on the time! I don't see how that should be so difficult!- Top

Re: forced to find another location Addendum
Was not just suggesting the whole event up and move. Finding a satellite location for the auction should be a preferred choice as compared to eliminating it entirely on that week-end. Tourism is way down in numbers - there must be plenty of locations that would re-think their old business model. Lower revenue is better than no revenue, unless of course you are into gross profit percentages! Find a local owner with a big mortgage.- Top

Re: forced to find another location Addendum
The auction is at a satelite location now. it has not been at Old Town for 3-4 years. When they first moved it was at least on the same week-end. Now it is 2 weeks apart, very inconvienient for those who want to do both. I sent a note to Tyler at the Florida Chapter to see if he could arrange to get the dates the same in the future, I hope so it would make life alot easier for those who wish to do both.. Tom- Top

Re: forced to find another location Addendum
I recieved a note from tyler explaining that Mecum has chosen not to work with the NCRS on the dates. I would think that Mecum would be the looser on that decision !! Oh well I can't do both weekends so my choice is NCRS!- Top
