    Inspection Sticker - Heater

I ordered heater inspection stickers and received a pair that are marked "APPROVED INSP. 369H" Where exactly should they be applied? What about yellow inspection paint on the heater blower motor? The car is a '65 396 coupe. pictures would be great.
    Thanks,
    Rob

    Re: Inspection Sticker - Heater

The reason these inspection stickers don't come with placement instructions is simple...they were hand applied and original position varied with human factors (what inspector, what time of construction, what shift). So, the answer is two fold: (1) put your sticker on your car where the original was, or (2) lacking that information, put it where a judge will be able to easily spot it.

Getting pictures of where somebody else put the sticker on their car only duplicates their restoration....

Rob -- Jack gives good guidance. However here's a few original examples to assist. The auto-load pic is of a VERY late '65 that's been off the road since 1973.

Here's another of the blower from the very next car (VIN-wise). Same sticker location (but shrunk) and you can barely see a trace of yellow on the bearing cap. Might show up better in a flash pic, which I could try.

Third pic is to show that with an early '65 C60 car (doesn't apply in your case) the blower motor is different and the yellow is more of an ink stamp, in this case, dated 8 - 64. My guess is that they used the same paint.

Here's another example of the yellow paint daub from a late 65. I found it hiding underneath a lot of dirt and grime. I'm the first owner who has cared about such details, so I'm sure it's original. When I repainted the blower motor, I masked off the paint daub to preserve it. I did not find any evidence of the inspection sticker, so it is long gone.

Look at Ebay item 170183001165 (easier than posting a picture) for location of the sticker that goes on the inner box. That one is on top near the defroster exit. This is also the same location eescribed in Vette Vues Fact Book by MF Dobbins.

The previous posts agree with what I have found on my early 66 blower motor.
