But this one, that I bought in the mid-80's, had still FINER cell structure. Also, was always greyish black (mostly black), not the pale example in your pic (p.s. I was following the auction on this item, too).

Further, the embossing on my original was not as "deep", if memory serves. Too bad there's no visible characters remaining, The darn thing sheds powder every time I pick it up . I could take close-up pics of the area where it folds over the backing screen, if that would help.

It's tough to imagine that it's a NOS piece. GM stopped selling it circa 1967, but maybe Delco still offered them for awhile.

Those urethane foam pieces tend to disintegrate after about 20 years - even sitting in a box.

I had a buddy with a set of NOS 2x4 air cleaners/cold air induction system for a 302 Camaro and the urethane disintegrated in the box. Oh, well!
