    L75 63 intake/carburator

when checking the Aim for 63 there is first a gasket on the intake
followed by the thick insulator on top of that the thin steel baffle plate
    and finaly the carburator,

is this all between intake and carburator ?

or should the be also a gasket between the insulator and baffle plate ?

    thanks Sander,

    Re: L75 63 intake/carburator

For the 300 HP engine the "stack" of components is as shown in the illustration - manifold - gasket - insulator - baffle - carburetor. No more. No less.

The "baffle" is actually a (thin metal)heat shield that protects the aluminum carburetor body from direct exhaust gas impingement.

check your carb base for flatness using a straight edge and if it is not flat you need to have it machined or used a gasket if you don't want a vacuum leak

Also use a suitable torque wrench and torque to the AIM spec using a criss cross pattern in a couple of increments - like you would do for a four-bolt road wheel.

Note that the carburetor attaching nut part number and torque spec are not listed in the L-75/76 section. This is because they are the same as the base engine WCFB carburetor, and you will find the nut part number and torque spec in Sect. 6 Sheet B2.00.

Parts, procedures, torque specs to attach optional equipment may not be listed in the optional section if they are the same as base, so always refer to the base equipment section for "missing" information in the option sections.
