I'm painting a 67 Corvette with the paint code of 977 which is Lynndale Blue. I'm going to be using Ditzler lacquer paint. My paint supplier sent me Ditzler DDL 13348 paint when I ordered Lynndale Blue 977 code. The color on the can reads Dark Teal Blue - not Lynndale blue - but looks correct.
Now, in the Corvette restoration guide by Richard F. Newton, the Ditzler number listed on page 196 for code 977 is DDL 13188. This is the same Ditzler paint number that Newton's guide lists for 1966 978 Laguna Blue. This can't be right as we all know Laguna blue is not Lynndale blue. Another paint chart that I have lists PPG paint #13348 for 977 Lynndale blue.
Is the Ditzler number of DDL 13348 correct? Does anyone know if Ditzler DDL 13348 is the same as PPG 13348? Would you agree that the Newton book is not correct ?
