Just starting the process of removing the interior on a 67 BB coupe and have found a couple of numbers. Under the door panels I found a number #200 and under the headliner with the same color was a different number which I think is #52. The last three digits in the Vin are #467. I have found posts in the archives that say the job number may not match that closley to the last three numbers on the vin but I can't find anything about other numbers like the one I found under the headliner. Any opinions are very much appreciated. Thanks

Re: Body Numbers
Yes, don't expect the job number to run in exact lock-step to the car's VIN. That presumes all 'jobs' were processed without delay to the final assy point where VIN's were assigned...
I suspect the number under your headliner is the car's job number and you ought to find it repeated in the other common locations where job numbers are found (fiberglass rear panel forward of the gas tank, engine compartment firewall, Etc.).- Top

Re: Body Numbers
I would say that all the door numbers should match the job number on the rear bulk head and the front floor pan, NOT the number on roof. I have Never seen a job number on the roof panel.I have seen one car with door numbers one number off. (one 399 the other 400) The vin has nothing to do with the job number.Phil 8063- Top

Job nos. for '67
Also look on the top of the steel rail that supports the dash--driver's side. My '67 had the job number written in red paint pencil that corresponded to the job number locations Jack described.
Good luck.

I think the job numbers on the cross member behind the glove box is only for AO Smith cars, and not for St. Louis bodied cars.Chris Enstrom
