    1970 Chassis Service Manual

for those with a 1970 model, which Chassis Service Manual do you find most accurately reflects the 70 model? I ask because the 70 manual references the 69 model while the 71 addresses the 71. I suspect the 70 is more like a 71 than a 69.

    Tom,
There is a Chevrolet Service News issue (May 1970, I htink)That is an update to the 1970 CSM and contains the most needed 1970 Model year Corvette additions.
The NCRS store has a photocopy of that CSN issue for sale.

I think I actually have a copy of it...lots of stuff on emissions if I recall correctly...thanks. Otherwise...what is your preferred CSM...70 or 71 or both?

Other than a bit of redundancy, it can't hurt to have both CSM books. There are some aspects of a '70 that are '69-alike and others that are '71-alike. Plus, there were running changes (early vs. late) throughout the short, 6-month, 1970 model year build. Then, there are the '70 only items unique to the car (e.g. California emissions, Etc.).

          Re: 1970 Chassis Service Manual

I am the wrong guy to ask that question. I had a complete set of CSMs from 1968 to 1972 long before I became TL. I have some others from the '60s and '70s due to other cars I once owned. I would NEVER own a car without the CSM and whatever other service/overhaul and parts books are available. Once I get them I have a hard time disposing of them.
Like Jack the manuals on either side of the year in question are often helpful for the reasons he cites.
One should take the same approach with the AIM for the year in question and adjacent years.
I doubt my approach to building my library is typical of the average enthusiast.
