C3 wiper motor finish

I am doing a 69 and wonder what the finish should be on the wiper motor. The one I have seems to be painted Argent Silver like the wheels. I has the correct part number on it but who knows???

Certain parts were cad/zinc plated (washer asssy's plate + motor's end cap) and other motor components that were die cast were left natural. Shooting with paint is a rebuilder's method of making things look 'pretty' without having to clean castings or re-plate stampings....

Here is mine.


I scrubbed the heck out of the housing with hot water and comet and a stiff plastic brush. It looks better in real life but still not quite as bright as it should be for fresh die cast aluminum.

Hey Greg, you did a Great job. Looks Super ! 298 day 68 year 3 line on A shift. I remember that Dept 215 (wiper motors) in Delco Products very well. Save the Wave.>George
