    '67 AM/FM radio repair referral?

Hey all of you much wiser than me! :-) I would like to get my original '67 AM/FM radio repaired and would like to know who you guys would suggest as the best place to repair it. I have an idea of where I would like to send it but would greatly appreciate any input you might have (especially if it's first hand experience!).

Thanks - Mark (member number 34132

Mark, I tried to send you an email but it came back with an invalid email address. Somewhere in your NCRS Profile you have mcshome2@attbi.com as your current email address.

Can you change it or send me a email that I can respond to.

    Thanks

    Harry

        Mark,

Do you want it functionally repaired or restored?

Great question Verle! I want my radio restored. I've spent a lot of time and money restoring my car & this is the only thing that doesn't work on the car so I'd like to get it restored correctly, not just repaired. :-)

          Thanks - Mark (#34132)

Good, now I understand your objective... Repair simply means make the radio grossly functional in its current state. Restore means that + address cosmetic issues and, depending on who does the restoration, go through the internal components and change out those parts known to age/deteriorate with time + add factory identified 'fixes' and circuitry 'enhancements'.

Those extra consideration can easily double/triple the scope of the job and its resultant cost....

It also changes who may be recommended to do the work.

I know of competent repair sources that can make it work like new, but they do no do cosmetic restoration to top flight standards.

There are known shops that do a full restoration, as Jack says, larger scope, larger price.
