I was just looking at 2 different alternators I have for my '63's and the stampings are entirely different, both in information and position.
One has the stamping in what I'd consider the conventional location (front half of case in the area behind the mounting boss for the upper support) and shows part number, date & amps. The second has the stamping on the rear half of case, off to one side on the flat area and shows date and part number ONLY, NO amps.
Are both of these accepted as correct in judging?
