anyone out there with a c-1 whose differential has never been removed from the axle housing: check and measure the thickness of the numerous nuts that fasten the pig to the housing. 1/4" vs 7/16" thick? thanks, mike

Re: NUTS
Hey, Mike,
As you already know, the hsg on my '62 was removed sometime back in the late 1962 early 1963 period when the posi unit was stolen. The nuts, which may not be originals, are 5/16" high with a small washer type inset on the bottom side.- Top

Re: NUTS
Larry--
Those wouldn't be original. Mike, I'll check when I can, but right now there's about 14" of snow between me and the cars in the barn. I'll get it shoveled and then take a look at one of the originals out there.- Top

Re: NUTS
Mike;
Sorry for the late repsonse.
I do not believe that the pig in my recently acquired 56 has ever been
removed. It has the correct date code and stamps, and plenty of grease and dirt.
The nuts are 5/16 inch thick. No captive washers.- Top
