    C1 Windshield Shims

    How does one determine how many shims go on each of the windshield supports? The windshield on my 60 has been off for so long I have no idea how many (if any) were there when I took it off.

      fit doors to body with glass and door posts installed. lay windshield on body but don't bolt down. then attach either hardtop if so equipped(or soft top bow assembly is soft top only vette )then adjust door posts/door glass to hardtop(or soft top). then you'll be able to scope out the door post to windshield posts for proper gap and if the gap is impropper, install shims if need be. i don't recall having to shim any of our c-1's i've restored.mike
