Haven't had too many interesting finds with my car, but today I removed the seats to begin work on the interior. Under one of the seats I found a long foil-like tag (sorta like a distributor tag) attached by a metal ring to one of the spring wires. The tag was flat black on the positive side and silver foil on the back. Near the eyelette attached to the ring was AMP followed by 4 - 4 - 67 and then a little further down the tag was was stamped 3899201 which is the part number for the seat frame assembly. My car's build date comes out to 4-18-67, so the seat tag date seems to fit perfect. Interesting find. Identical metal ring was present on other seat, but the tag was missing. Pretty neat find confirming original seat frames.
The underside of the seat had the metal seat springs connected to frame by small springs. There was then burlap (?) with long metal pins through it followed by the seat foam with some black marker letters on out. There were also small "strings" around the outer edges. Is this typical?
