66 BB distributor hold-down

After adjusting timing on an L36, I found it tough to tighten the distributor lockdown bolt. I've used an "L" shaped distributor wrench and various open and box-ends, but the ridge on the intake manifold and/or valve cover is in the way and it just wont get a good grip on the bolt to satisfactorily tighten. Any suggestions for specific tools?

I've always had success with the L shaped wrenches as best I can remember, but if that won't work try a socket with a universal joint. It needs to be the built in kind, not a joint and a regular socket.

I had a professional mechanic give me a distributor tool, mfg. Vulcan, model
TU 818. If works perfectly on my sml block. Point is, Vulcan, or SK Tools, KD Tools, Snap On and others may have the exact tool you need. Check with your local parts jobber/distributor. Don't forget the internet serch.

the dist tools i have are CTC 7019 and they will clear all the stuff. i have no idea what CTC stsnds for but i got them at NAPA years ago.
