C3: LS6 Fuel Pump

Hi,
I have a '69 L71 427. While awaiting time and money to rebuild the tri-power I'm running a '71 LS6 intake and carb. Does anyone know if the fuel pump outlet for an LS6 is on the opposite side of the one for an L71? I bought a fuel line kit for an LS6 and it appears the fuel pump to carb line for the LS6 will not work on my L71 because the fuel line attaches at the back rather than the front. Either that or the supplier sent me the wrong line.

The fuel pump outlet that the metal fuel line connects to, does indeed face rearward. The inlet side that the rubber fuel line connects to from the metal line along the frame rail, faces forward.

If you are facing a clock, the carb to fuel pump metal line connects at 9 o'clock, and the rubber fuel line connects at 3 o'clock.

Yes, the pump is available. It's GM #6470309, aka Ac-Delco #40770.

However, there's a problem for your application. The 40770 pump is a long canister type AND IT USES A FUEL RETURN LINE. Your 1969 L-71 has no fuel return line. So, can you just block of the fuel return nipple on the 40770 pump and still have it otherwise function properly? I don't know.
