What type of exhaust tunnels were in the quarter panels on a late '58? My '60 had the steel tubes and I know an original early '58 that has the fiberglass tubes. Corvette Central is offering the metal tubes and indicates they were used in late '58. The ones in my '58 are missing and we can't really tell which ones it had. It looks like there may have been some bonding adhesive on the top side of the cut outs on the trunk floor pan side. If it had the metal pipes I would have thought I would find some signs of the metal tabs that held the tubes in place. TIA

A 59 I restored recently had fiberglass exhaust tunnels, so I would assume that 58 did also. -

Ted, my May 28, 58 build had fiberglass and the 59 original right 1/4 panel that I am putting on her had fiberglass too. I couldn't tell you if that 59 1/4 panel was early, mid or late but that is what it had.Comment

58 and 59 had fiberglass and 60 had steel. Sherersheims in Evansville, Indiana makes the fiberglass ones.Comment
