    Hi Joe,

Do you have an advise which side of the clip has to be pointing what direction?

    Thanks, Joep

Ps. It turns out that 3 Dutch chapter members are all doing the same revision at a time!

        Joep-----

I install them with the crisp, sharp edge facing OUTWARD. However, this orientation is not something that is specified by GM; as far as I know, they make no specification in this regard. This is something I was told by folks that have a lot of experience in rebuilding Corvette rear ends and I've always followed that practice.

            Sander / Joep,

I suspect that our Treasurer Ruud Zeller has the same problem with his 63. That makes it 4 Dutch C2s with the same problem.

Is this a coincidence? Were we all subject to the same bubba error or are we dealing here with a real technical flaw which we can prevent for the future?

I also have a 66 that has come to me with a broken ring from the left side stub axle. Just a comment.

I learned in school something about Dutch Disease. Most likely it had to do something with Corvettes.

                  Joe,
The current aftermarket snap rings are square edged from the ones I used. They do lock in place. I also found various ring thickness ranges up to .010 varience. The better aftermarket ones are the "green" ones, noted by the color.

To check the yokes install the snap ring and measure from the face to the ring. It should be in the .187 range a few thousands either way. If the posi is setup stock there will be a fair amount of play in the clutches and the endplay with new yokes may be more then expected. If the spider backlashis correct then the play will be decreased and the posi will work better. As some know I do not use the posi springs and usually have to grind the yokes to get the endplay I like, .005-.010"
